New partnership between Essex and ECDP

New partnership between Essex and ECDP shows the County Council’s commitment to building capacity in user led services

Nanette Wright has been seconded to ECDP for a year to support ECDP to develop further and accelerate its implementation of a broad range of self-directed support services. Both organisations understand the importance of ensuring that the way services are delivered increasingly benefits from the lived experience of disability. Nanette is looking at what types of support planning services could be run by user led organisations, and how it could happen. Amongst the people she’ll be working closely with in the coming year will be a small group of DPUN representatives to ensure that disabled and older people can influence the emerging thinking and development work.
